Ng Yu Hng
NG Yu Hng is an award-winning composer whose works explore musical time, liturgy and intertextuality. His music has been performed in 16 countries across Europe, Asia and North America.
His works were performed by the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, Black Pencil Ensemble, Mivos Quartet, CHROMA, Lontano, Meitar Ensemble, Fretwork Viol Consort, CoMA, and Sopriola, among others, and were performed at festivals and concert halls such as the Dartington Festival (UK), Valencia International Performing Arts Festival (Spain), the UNESCO Heritage Site of Schokland (Netherlands), Esplanade Concert Hall (Singapore), World Viola D'amore Congress (Italy), Hughes Hall, Cambridge University (UK), Miyoshimachi Cultural Center (Japan), among others.
In 2024, he was a winner of the Idiosyncrasies Prize for string quartet (US), and his trio Speak-Un-Listen was on-tour with award-winning duet Sopriola across the UK and continental Europe. His works are published by NIBIUS Records (Spain) and CoMA (UK).
He read his Masters degree at the Royal Academy of Music with Morgan Hayes, supported by the Countess of Munster Trust Scholarship. Previously, he studied at King's College London, achieving the Purcell Prize in Music for academic excellence.
